The GrooveSpan Trio ~ "Your Way With Me"

In October 2012, The GrooveSpan Trio released its first jazz demo sampler CD, "Your Way With Me".  Jennifer Cooper (vocals), Carl Reichelt (guitar), and Alex Dean (violin) were inspired to complete this labor of love by the countless requests of family, friends and fans to offer something they could take home with them after hearing live performances.   For sample audio clips and info on how to obtain your own copy, please visit GrooveSpan Merchandise.

Jennifer performs at St. Mary's River Concert Series (Maryland)

On Friday, July 27, 2012 Jennifer enjoyed the privilege of performing with the Chesapeake Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Jeffery Silberschlag at the renowned St. Mary's River Concert Series.  Enjoy samples below of the brilliant orchestral arrangements of these iconic jazz tunes created by Tom Holtz and performed by Jennifer and the orchestra.  (FYI: Recording is amateur quality, achieved with small digital recorder at an outdoor venue.)  Video available at Go-DIVA! Rockin' with GrooveSpan

Jennifer and the guys (Carl, Paul, Rick, Bill) visited KMH Recording Studio to record a classic tune by the late, great Etta James.  Then, they made a video!  Click on the song title below to watch!  Check out the whole GrooveSpan story and info about its current members at GrooveSpan.com.

Something's Got a Hold On Me

Plus, a special "basement-studio recording GrooveSpan Duo moment", inspired by the life and love of Jennifer's father, Sidney "Wayne" Cooper.  Jennifer and Carl recorded this cover version of "Songbird" just 72 hours after he passed away, which was played at the funeral service as a tribute to him, a career artist, a most generous and kind man, and the best Dad that a daughter could ever be fortunate enough to know.

Honoring Karen Carpenter...

Jennifer's lifelong admiration for Karen Carpenter inspired her to round up a few great musicians and jam to some of her favorites covered by The Carpenters.  March 2010 marked Karen's 60th Birthday Anniversary, further inspiring the decision to honor Karen's musical legacy with a program called "Only Yesterday".  To this day, devoted fans still miss Karen's incomparable voice and charm.

'Tis the Season for "Candles & Sweet Silent Night"...

In November 2012, composer and musician Charles M. Long put heart to song and pen to paper, resulting in a beautiful new, original holiday song that is guaranteed to warm your soul and leave you humming the lilting melody of this charming and inspiring creation.  Once completed, Charles asked Jennifer to record the vocals, with him at the piano, and she was honored to do so!  Special thanks to NightSky Studios in Waldorf, MD.  Once you hear it, you'll want to add "Candles & Sweet Silent Night" to your playlist of favorite holiday tunes.  Visit the following link, enjoy, and tell us what you think!
